Interim Budget 2014-15 : Points to Remember
- Growth estimated at 4.9% of GDP in 2013-14 .
- Fiscal deficit estimated at 4.6% in 2013-14 , expected to be 4.1% in 2014-15 .
- Current Account Deficit - $ 45 billion .
- Planned Expenditure - Rs. 5,55,322 crore .
- Non- Planned Expenditure - Rs. 12,07,892 crore .
- Rs. 3,370 crore transferred to 2.1 crore LPG beneficiaries .
- 57 crore Aadhaar Card issued so far .
- Rs. 1,15,000 crore for food subsidy .
- Rs. 65,000 crore for fuel subsidy .
- Defence budget increased by 10% to Rs. 2,24,000 crore .
- Rs. 500 crore allocated for "One Rank One Pension" .
- Excise duty on mobile phones to be restructured .
- Rs. 1000 crore for "Nirbhaya Fund" (non-lapsable) .
- Tax Revenue expected to rise by 18% .
- Blood banks exempted from service tax .
- Capital infusion of Rs. 11,200 crore in Public Sector Banks .
- Proposal for the formation of Research Funding Body to promote R & D .
- 10% and 5% surcharge on super-rich(>10 crore) and rich(1 crore to 10 crore) respectively to be continued .
- Government raises agriculture credit target to Rs. 8 lac crore .
