SBI PO vs IBPS PO : What are the differences ?
IBPS has concluded the recruitment process of 2013 and SBI has just published the notification ( click for details ) for the fresh recruitment of probationary officers . IBPS conducts the recruitment for 21 public sector banks and other financial institutions whereas SBI conducts its own recruitment . All the aspirants of SBI PO are expected to know the major differences in the recruitment examinations of IBPS PO and SBI PO to avoid any confusion .
Here we are listing the important points where SBI PO and IBPS PO differ from each other :
1) General Awareness Section -
The General Awareness (GA) section of SBI PO is different than that of IBPS PO as in SBI PO, GA section consists of questions from current affairs, banking , marketing & computer , whereas in IBPS PO, GA section consists of questions from current affairs and banking only . There is a separate computer section in IBPS PO .

2) Aptitude / Data Interpretation Section -
SBI PO examination consists of a section , Data Analysis and Interpretation , in this section Data Interpretation (graph, chart etc) covers the major portion i.e. >30 marks and remaining portion is covered by questions from other topics (like profit & loss, percentage, simplification, average etc.), whereas in IBPS PO, Data Interpretation covers less than 20 marks .
3) Number of Sections -
Number of Sections in SBI PO examination is 4 but in IBPS PO examination it is 5 as there is an additional section (Computer) in IBPS PO . Total marks of Phase I is same in both the examinations (200) .

4) Group Discussion / Personal Interview (GD/PI) -
